I posted this a few days ago on Twitter, and it has exploded to a truly unexpected and overwhelming degree, which has led to several days of amazing conversations and someone messaged me here to ask if I would post it on Tumblr, which I probably should have done much earlier except that I always forget I have a Tumblr. Anyway, here it is, though I also encourage anyone with Twitter to go check out the original thread, as the replies have become a goldmine of further research, dialogue and fact-checking.
All the sources I cited in the thread are linked below!
since i have not seen anybody share information on this here, please pay attention to the philippines right now and provide any support you can. if this bill passes, people’s basic rights to free speech will be taken from them.
anyone seeing this from the ph, please stay safe and stay strong. these are scary times.
if you haven’t shared this, please do. i know there’s already a lot happening with BLM in america but this is equally as important.
my partner lives in the ph and she is scared and is being ignored right now by their followers despite how fatal this situation is.
if the bill passes, this gives the ph government the right to arrest ANYBODY under the notion of being a “terrorist.” they will monitor everybody’s internet. this is a direct violation of freedom of speech and it’s unfolding right before our eyes.
a villain who commits crimes because they want to impress the hero and get their attention but they don’t know how to flirt like a regular person
them: i just don’t understand it. last week i airlifted an entire bus full of tourists to the top of a skyscraper and rigged every floor with fun, non-lethal booby traps. i wore my best cape, my tightest black leather pants AND i added 5 more flirty winks and seductive smirks to my monologue. how could i possibly have been more obvious?
their minions: have you considered just… talking to them?
I think it’s incredible how seals experience the world.
Many of the deep-diving seals can go blind during their lifetime and live just fine.
Round whiskers flap around in the water and create their own turbulence, but the specific whisker shape they have cancels turbulence, so they can pinpoint trails of turbulence from prey.
